Nehru Memorial College celebrated Teachers day in style. Events like createtive writing, extempore, quiz, poetry rectitation, dumb carades, singing and dance were organized for the teachers.Shedding the teacher tag, gurus too jumped into the bandwagon of celebration with much enthusiasm. Topic for these events was around teachers. Sub themes like "College Dreams", Recognition Won't come Easily, "We will create the Best World" evoked emotions along with full show of teacher's grey matters. Pon.Balasubramanian, President of NMC presided over the function. He said "The Teachers are the backbone of the nation". Without teachers there is no growth and development. They are the ones who create bureaucrats to politicians to judges to engineers to doctors to social workers.All the Wisdom books say that the parents and teachers are equal to god.
Principal.T.Jayaprakasam welcomed the gathering. In his welcome address the principal said "it is a greate honour for us to have the member of parliament Thiru.R.P.Marutharaja as the chief guest for this year's teacher's day celebrations".
Member of parliament from Perambalur R.Marthuraja graced as the occasion as chief guest. In his address Perambalur M.P said "Teachers are the one who create citizens in the world. Without teachers none can become a star in their life". Teachers of NMC who guided maximum nuber of P.hD candidates and received research projects were honoured by the management. Dr.Selvaraj, Head of the Departments Commerce, Dr.S.Kumararaman, Head of the Department of Physics, Dr.P.Neelanarayana, Department of Zoology, Dr.C.Sasi Kumar, Department of Biotechnology, Dr.K.T.Tamil Mani, Department of English,Dr.KSaravanan, Department of Zoology, Dr.Meenakshi Sundaram, Department of Bio-Technology, Dr.S.Renuka, Department of Zoology Perambalur M.P.R.P.Marutharaja gave away prizes to the winners in events conducted for the teachers.
