Students went to industrial trip on 24/12/2018 to Ashtanga Ayurvedic Pvt Ltd., company in Trichy. It is 82 years old, quality based ayurvedic company. B.Com, M.B.A and M.Phil students were taken to the visit. Various ayurvedic raw materials were shown to the students. Product process, Packing and despatching were observed by the students. This trip induced the mood of entrepreneurship to the students. Dr.M.Mary Anbumathy, Head of Commerce Department organized this industrial trip.

PG AND B.Com and M.B.A students went to field trip to National Research Centre for banana on 02/01/2019. National Research centre for banana was started in 1993 and celebrated its 25th year. It functions as farmers friend. Students visited farms and gathered knowledge regarding crop production, protection and marketing. Various value added things from banana were viewed by the students. Export procedures were also explained by experts to the students.

Mrs.S.K.Vanitha explained the methods to make a Teddy Bear and gave training to UG and PG Students. They were very interested and learned the easy and simplest way toy making as an craft work. Above 100 students were participated and gained through this programme.

Quiz: In this competition 55 students were participated.

Two days workshop was conducted on 21/09/2015 and 22/09/2015 for “Developing soft skills for the students”. Corporate trainer and therapist Praveena Ananad from Chennai, addressed the gathering and trained the students . Seven sessions were conducted on the topic understanding self, Goal setting, Organizational goal, Communication skill, interpersonal skills, Business presentation skills and real life case study.
|8||On 06/10/2015 workshop on “young woman entrepreneur training, in fashion jewellery making” was organised. Mrs. S.K.Vanitha woman entrepreneur from Salem addressed the gathering and conducted practical classes to the students in making fashion jewellery.|

|10||It gives the students the opportunity to get involved in community service on a regular basis. Learning outside the classroom is as important as learning in the classroom and it is possible to greatly enhance students’ academic performance with additional extension activities. On January 21st 2016 students covered the village of puthanampatti and vellakalpatti, to explain the public regarding the defects of open defecation and essentials of toilet in every house. They also explained Government scheme for building free toilet through panchayat.|
|11||On January 28th 2016 students covered villages of puthanampatti and omanthur to explain public, the need of bank account and they helped plenty of members to open savings account on that day.|

More than thousand members enrolled their name for paper presentation.|

|15||Farewell to final year students were arranged by juniors on department association function on 2nd April 2016. Mr.P. Ramasamy young public prosecutor, who was alumni of commerce Department, gave special lecture to the students explaining how to achieve success.|
|16||“Hello Fm radio” conducted “Kallori salai” students’ talent show to various departments in Nehru Memorial College. More than eight Departments participated and Department of Commerce won the show and was selected for finals at district level.|
|17|| Students at Finals in district level compeition of “kallori salai”. More than 10 teams from both Arts and science colleges and Engineering colleges participated in this competition from Tiruchirapalli district.
Nehru Memorial college won the trophy and Cash award Rs. 25,000. Former vice chancellor of Bharathidasan university Dr. Meena madam distributed prizes to the winners.

|20||INDUSTRIAL VISIT |
On 14/03/2016 Final year students were taken to “Tulya food products private limited” at Perambalur for industrial visit. They were producing beverages which includes energy drinks, cool drinks and concentrated drinks. Apart from that they are also producing Milk and milk products. Students were taken to both the sections. Students were given practical exposure through industrial visit.
|21||Inter collegiate meet was organised on 23/02/2016. Ten competitions were conducted namely paper presentation, B sence,Q cqil, Spice life, Urban legend, Green Sculpture foot notes, Etching, Ossa and Strawboss. Students from various colleges in and around Tiruchirapalli district actively participated in this competition. Students of Jamal Mohamed college won the championship.|
