Report on Data Vision Day 2K25 and Workshop on Power BI on 19.03.2025

The Department of Data Science at Nehru Memorial College successfully organized "Data Vision Day 2K25" along with a Workshop on Power BI, providing students with an engaging platform to explore the latest advancements in data science and business intelligence. The event emphasized hands-on learning, project-based exploration, and interactive discussions on data visualization.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Derrick Alex, officially inaugurated Data Vision Day 2K25 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the grand commencement of the event.

The students welcomed the guests with an innovative clapping sensor, which elegantly triggered a shower of flowers, creating a delightful and memorable start to the event.

The Data Vision Day 2K25 – Data Science Project Exhibition was observed and appreciated by Er. Pon Balasubramanian, President, Mr. Suriya, College Committee Member, Dr. A. Venkatasan, Principal of Nehru Memorial College, Dr. K. T. Tamilmani, Vice Principal of Nehru Memorial College, and Dr. M. Meenakshisundaram, Coordinator, whose support played a crucial role in the success of the event.

Mr. Derrick Alex provided valuable suggestions for improving the projects, while Ms. Anubharathi engaged enthusiastically with each student, offering insights and constructive feedback. Mr. Joseph Rithvik and Mr. Ashwin explored the projects with great interest, appreciating the innovative ideas showcased by the students.

A key highlight of the event was the exhibition of 30 innovative projects by Data Science students, showcasing applications in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, and Big Data Analytics. The exhibition attracted over 200 students from various departments, providing them with a platform to interact, gain insights, and enhance their technical knowledge.

The Data Science Exhibition projects were viewed by faculty members from the Mathematics Department (Aided & SF), Computer Science Department, and Computer Applications Department. Faculty from various other departments also visited the exhibition, appreciating the students' innovative project ideas and congratulating them on their efforts.

In addition, the Workshop on Power BI provided students with hands-on training in data visualization, dashboard creation, and business intelligence solutions. Participants explored real-time case studies and industry-based applications of Power BI, equipping them with essential skills for data-driven decision-making.

During the Valedictory Function, Smt. N. Kalpana, Head of the Department, highlighted the significance of celebrating "Data Vision Day 2K25" and the Power BI Workshop. She explained that the event provided students with practical exposure to data science tools and methodologies. The combination of project presentations and hands-on training enhanced students' analytical skills and industry readiness. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of Pi (π) and its diverse applications across various fields. she also presented the report on Data Vision Day 2K25, highlighting the exhibition of 30 innovative projects and the valuable insights gained through the event.

The President encouraged students to continue their journey with the same hunger and passion they displayed during the exhibition. He emphasized the importance of developing real-time solutions and announced financial support of up to ₹1 lakh for building a drone project to harvest cotton balls within the college premises.

Aswin Ram, Trainee at VDart, emphasized the importance of selecting a specific domain and creating a well-structured roadmap to achieve success.

Students should progress in line with the rapid development of AI. They should explore the concept of Twin AI, which enables self-evaluation and continuous improvement, stated Mr. Derrick Alex in his speech.

Ms. Anubharathi emphasized the importance of communication skills, encouraging students to enhance their ability to articulate ideas effectively. She also advised them to leverage available opportunities and build a strong professional network in their niche through LinkedIn. The event concluded with a formal feedback session and a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Ajay C, III B.Sc Data Science, Coordinator of Data Vision Day 2K25, who expressed gratitude to the management, chief guest, faculty members, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support.
