Student Association and Literary Forum Valedictory Function

The Student Association and Literary Forum Valedictory Function was held at Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti, on Thursday, 27th March 2025. The event took place at the Mookapillai Auditorium on the college campus and began at 1:30 PM.

The program was presided over by the College Chairman, Engineer Pon. Balasubramanian, who delivered the presidential address. The College Secretary, Mr. Pon. Ravichandran, gave the inaugural address. The College Principal, Dr. A. Venkatesan, and Vice Principal, Dr. D. Tamilmani, extended their greetings and congratulations.

The special guest for the event was Dr. Na. Saththamaipriya, Assistant Professor and motivational speaker from Cauvery Women’s College, Tiruchirappalli. She delivered a literary keynote address on the topic “The Ethics of Life Through Literature.” In her speech, she emphasized that when righteousness (dharma) prevails, strength and protection naturally follow, as conveyed in the Ramayana. Without righteousness, even divine weapons become ineffective. The Mahabharata teaches that those who help others without expecting anything in return will surely rise in life. Despite advancements in science and artificial intelligence, it is ultimately teachers and literature that instill moral values. She urged students to follow their teachers’ guidance and learn from literature to achieve success in life.

Prizes were awarded to students who excelled in the literary forum competitions. Heads of various departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students participated in the event.

Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Som. Rajendran, Head of the Tamil Department. The vote of thanks was delivered by Literary Forum Secretary Ms. M. Dharani. The event was coordinated by Dr. A. Prabhu, Assistant Professor of Commerce, and Dr. Th. Maheswari, Professor in the Tamil Department.
