Introduction
A Career Guidance Program on the theme “The Nitty- Gritty of Career Readiness” was conducted at Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti to empower students with essential career planning skills. The program aimed to help students become aware of career opportunities, understand emplo yabilit y skills, and prepare effectively for future professional challenges.

The primary objectives of the Career Guidance Program were:

- To create awareness about var ious career paths and job opportunities.
- To enhance students’ understanding of career readiness skills.
- To develop self- confidence and career planning strategies among students.
- To motivate students to set achievable career goals.
- To provide insights on employabilit y skills required in the moder n workplace.

Dr. K. T. Tamilmani, the Vice Principal of Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti, was the resource person for the program. Dr. Tamilmani is an accomplished academician with vast experience in mentoring students. His expertise in career counseling and student development made him an ideal presenter for discussing the practical aspects of career readiness.

Program Highlights
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. S. Priyadharshini, Head, and Assistant professor Department of Management Studies. It was followed by an inspiring session conducted by Dr. K. T. Tamilmani, who elaborated on the fundamental aspects of career readiness.

Understanding Career Readiness :
Dr. Tamilmani explained what it means to be “career ready” — possessing the knowledge, skills, and personal attributes that make students successful in the workplace. Importance of Self- Assessment :
Students were encouraged to assess their interes ts, strengths, weaknesses, and personality t raits to choose suitable career paths. Workplace requirements :
The session emphasized essential employability skills including professionalism, continuous learning skills, effective communication, teamwork and collaboration, crit ical thinking, problem- solving ability, and self- management. These skills are crucial for enhancing students’ career readiness and workplace success. Resume Writing & Interview Tips Practical suggestions were shared on how to prepare impr essive resumes, master interview techniques, and present oneself confidently. Goal Setting and Planning :
Dr. Tamilmani guided the students on setting realistic career goals, preparing action plans, and developing t imelines for achieving career milestones.

Student Interaction :
An interactive Q&A session allowed students to clarify doubts and ask questions related to career cho ices, higher education options. The engaging sessio n received enthusiastic participation.

The program was strongly encouraged and sup ported by our respected President, Er. Pon. Balasubramanian . He emphasized the importance of career readiness and skill development among students to face the competitive global environment. He appreciated the department’s init iat ive in organizing such a m eaningful program and motivated students to actively participate and make use of the guidance provided. His continuous support and encouragement played a significant role in t he successful conduct of the event.

Feedback and Outcome :
Students expressed t hat the session was highly informative and motivating. Many students felt more confident about planning their future careers and developing required skills for competitive environments.
