“How to Face Interviews Successfully?” on 10.2.2026 for PG final-year students.

The Career Guidance & Placement Cell organized a career guidance program titled “How to Face Interviews Successfully?” on 10.2.2026 for PG final-year students. The objective of the program was to equip students with essential interview skills, enhance their confidence, and prepare them effectively for their future careers.

The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. A. Kasthuri, Associate Dean for Career Guidance & Placement, who highlighted the importance of interview readiness and confidence building for students stepping into the professional world.

The gracious support and visionary guidance of our esteemed President, Er. Pon. Balasubramanian, and Secretary, Mr. Pon. Ravichandran, were respectfully acknowledged. Their constant encouragement, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication towards the holistic development of students continue to inspire and strengthen such meaningful initiatives.

Special mention was made of Mrs. Mala Balasubramanian, College Committee Member, for her valuable support and coordination in facilitating the presence of the resource person for the program. Her keen interest in promoting career-oriented opportunities for students contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of this session.

The Principal, Dr. A. Venkatesan, presided over the function and delivered the felicitation address. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of soft skills, professional grooming, a positive attitude, and thorough preparation in achieving career success. He appreciated the Placement Cell for organizing a timely and beneficial program for the students.

The resource person, Mr. Suresh Ramaratnam, Chief Operating Officer of Winspire Associates and Senior Trainer and Organizational Development Consultant, delivered a highly engaging and practical session on interview readiness. Drawing from his rich professional experience, he provided detailed guidance on preparing an effective resume, highlighting the importance of clarity, structure, and presenting one’s strengths confidently. He also emphasized professional grooming, appropriate body language, and effective communication skills as essential elements in creating a strong and lasting first impression during interviews.

As part of the session, he conducted a self-assessment test to help students evaluate their own strengths, areas for improvement, confidence levels, and readiness for interviews. Based on the responses, he offered valuable insights and practical suggestions to help students work on their personal and professional development. This activity enabled students to gain better self-awareness and understand how to position themselves effectively before employers.

He further conducted a mock interview demonstration, providing students with realtime exposure to interview scenarios and employer expectations. In addition, he engaged students with interesting mind games and thought-provoking activities, which enhanced their concentration, presence of mind, and confidence. These activities made the session lively and highly interactive. Students actively participated with enthusiasm, responded confidently, and involved themselves wholeheartedly throughout the program.

At the end of the program, several students shared their positive feedback, expressing that the session was highly useful, motivating, and practical in preparing them to face interviews successfully.

Nearly 67 PG final-year students from various departments actively participated in the program and benefited from the valuable guidance provided.

The event was efficiently compered by Ms. M. Deepika and Ms. R. Punitha from II M.Sc. Chemistry, ensuring the smooth flow of the program. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. R. Mohanlal, Student Representative from II M.Sc. Chemistry, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants.

With the support and coordination of Dr. R. Kabilan, Associate Dean, and Mrs. Jayasri, Placement Assistant, the program was organized successfully and concluded on a positive note. Overall, the program was a meaningful initiative that strengthened students’ confidence and enhanced their readiness to face interviews successfully.
