Industrial Visit Report- Umagine TN 2026
The PG Department of Computer Applications, Nehru Memorial College Puthnampatti, has attended the Industrial Visit, Conducted by Govt. of Tamil Nadu with association of ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu. at Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai on 08.01.2026.The Students with learning skills of 51 students from I Year BCA and 4 students from III Year BCA along with 2 faculties from our Department Mr.K.Kalyanakrishnan,Assistant Professor and Dr.A.Barakath Begam, Assistant Professor to connect logical ideas with industries.
The visit started from NMC, Puthanampatti at 10:00 PM on 07.01.2026 by VIP Travels bus and reached the Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai at 7:45 AM on the first day of Umagine TN 2026 Technology Summit.
Our Participants attended the Ribbon Cutting of AI & Robots Stalls and inaugural address by our Honorable Chief Minister Govt. of Tamil Nadu Mr M.K. Stalin addressing the salient features, consistent growth and development in Information Technology toward AI skills 20 lakh job opportunity, He declared the expansion and development policy of 2025-2026 includes over 5000 cores investment for the development of AI data center, followed by speech from Honorable Govt. of Tamil Nadu.IT Minister Dr. Palanivel ThiagaRajan addressing the milestones achieved by our Government of Tamil Nadu and Future Proposals, Expansions towards Information Technologies on Digital Services and The Special address from an eminent personality Indian lyricist, screenwriter, researcher, software engineer and entrepreneur Dr. Madhan Karky Vairamuthu on Algorithms in AI and Robotics. The MoU signed between ELCOT and Various Leading Industries for developing students community which creates an ample opportunity, Finally the day-1 was concluded with vote of thanks by The IAS Officer, Information Technology and Digital Services Department, Government of Tamil Nadu .
The sessions Highlighted, High-impact discussions with industry and policy leaders, Showcases of cutting-edge innovations by leading companies, Extensive networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators, Workshops, Master classes, and panel sessions for knowledge sharing. o The students and Staff Members had visited the innovations and novel ideas for implementing the AI Technologies and Robotics displayed through the Stalls in the Trade Centre Humanoid Robots, Enhanced Autonomy & Adaptability, Human-Robot Collaboration(Cobots), Advanced AI Integration, Generative AI: Enhances chat bots and AI assistants, transforming workflows, Human Robots, Innovative Hardware Chips (PRIMA),Edge Computing-
The feedback from our and faculties is satisfied and highly encouraged with the voice from various eminent personality speakers. This give Hopes to the students to create the interest, idea and implementing for AI and Robotics in science and technology. The PG Department of Computer Applications extends sincere Thanks to the College Management for providing us the wonderful opportunity for our students and staff members.
