ANNUAL REPORT 2014-15

3. VIVATHAM: This is the debating club of NMC which enhances the quality of debating skills among the students. By organizing debates by students and by invited speakers the club achieves its goals. Following events were organized.

  • A discussion on the challenges of competitive exams was organized on 27 June 2014
  • A discussion on Science & Society was organized on 16 July 2014
  • A discussion on Independence and development was organized on 14 August 2014
  • A discussion on Indo-Sino Relations was organized on 24 September 2014
  • “GANDHI DESATHIL MAATHU OLIPU” a lively debate was organized among the students on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi
  • A discussion on Ebola virus was organized on 28 November 2014
  • A discussion on Development of Tamil Nadu was organized on 10 December 2014
  • A discussion on Mangalyan was organized on 7 January 2015
  • A discussion on Mangalyan was organized on 7 January 2015
  • A discussion on the Union Budget was organized on 2 March 2015 INNOVATIONS: To encourage innovative thinking and experiments, students were encouraged to take part in competitions. So far NMC has applied for the five grand innovation competitions around the country. Marico Foundation, Mumbai has recognized our waste water treatment; Bill Melina Gates Foundations has recognized our night soil utilization, and Cavincare for the waste water treatment.
  • Dr.J.Radhika, Principal, SrimadAndavan Arts & Science College chaired a session on “DNA & Human Biology” on 2 March 2015

  • In collaboration with the Ponsiva Research and Innovation Trust a science, innovation & technology exhibition was organized on 28 & 29th January 2015. More than 125 teams have participated with enthusiasm and innovative exhibits.

    4. NEWS THIS WEEK: In order to raise the general knowledge among the students, News This Week is posted in the google+ for the benefit of NMC students. Every week, quiz competitions are conducted on the current affairs and the winners are rewarded.

    5. Grey Matters – The Quiz club regularly organizes quiz competitions for the students. More than 100 students are regularly engaged in increasing their general knowledge through group participations.

    6. FOREIGN LINKAGES: Collaboration with the foreign scholars definitely increases the horizons of the NMC. So far 11 foreign scholars have visited and around 15 institutions have been linked through ICT. The following scholars have visited the campus,
