NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
National Service Scheme (NSS) was started 1972 in Nehru Memorial College. The National Srvice Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government - sponsored public service program conducted by the ministry of youth affairs & sports of the government of India.
Objectives:
- To understand the community in which they work
- Identify the needs & problems of the community & involve them in problem solving.
- To acquire leadership qualities & democratic attitude.
- To practice national integration & social harmony.
- To gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
- To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual & community problem
- To develop competence required for group-living & sharing of responsibilities.
