The PG & Research department of Mathematics organized RAMFEST '2018' ON 24.12.2018.
The inaugural started at 10.30 am in the Mookapillai Auditorium.
Prof. R. Marckandan, Head, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics (SF) welcomed the gathering. Dr. A. R. Ponperiyasamy, Principal, Nehru Memorial College presided over the function.
Dr. M. Meenakshi Sundaram, Co-ordinator, Nehru Memorial College felicitated the function.
Dr. A. Prabakaran, Dean, Nehru Memorial College felicitated the function.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of RAMFEST – 2K18 events.
The chief guest Dr. A. Hari Ganesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Poompuhar College (Autonomous), Melaiyur, Nagapattinam delivered the keynote address and special lecture on “Introduction to Number Theory with Cryptography”.
He begins the presentation by cryptography in caveman painting and secret sending messages through wooden scrolled papers. He explained secret key cryptosystem and affine transformation.
Further he pointed out that encryption and decryption system and public key cryptography. Finally concluded that to study of cryptography is most important for us. More than 450 students were participated and benefited through this programme.
