Technology is essential driver which can easily help scaling up Skill Development Initiative. Gaining knowledge from Technology requires an understanding of how technology interacts with students and their career. In IT Profession this will lead them to apply technology in innovative ways and to achieve career goals. The student should be aware of the Computer Technology. The focus is on getting students to develop skills for life in an increasingly technological world. This Outline aims to provide the kind of practical experience which includes an element of self-confidence, together with the practical skills that will prepare students to meet the IT needs. On 26/6/2019 and 27/6/2019, Department of Computer Science organized two days Technology Oriented Skills Development Programme for the final year UG and PG students of Computer Science and Computer Application. The experts Mr. T Sivakumar, cofounder & GM of Learning Centre, Trichy and Mr. M Shanmugasundaram, Managing Director, Micireds Networking technologies, Pondicherry gave awareness and motivation to the students about how to develop their technical skills in various levels. They demonstrated about
1. Working of an IoT App
2. Cloud Computing Platform - Windows Azure and AWS
3. Ethical Hacking
4. Networking and
5. Virtualization
Around 180 students participated and gained more knowledge on their relevant specification. Prof. K. Ponvelazhagulakshmi, Welcomed the gathering and Dr. D. Jayachitra, delivered the introductory remarks of the programme. The overall programme was organized by Dr S Manimekalai, Assistant Professor of Computer Science.
