FDP for Commerce & Management Faculty- 27 to 29.05.2019

The department of commerce organized an “orientation programme for the teaching staff of commerce and management departments” from 27.05.2019 to 29.05.2019 in the college. Dr.T.Jeyaprakasam, former Principal of our college welcomed the gathering. Dr.A.R.Ponperiasamy, principal presided over the function. Er.Pon.Balasubramanian, President of our college committee delivered the key note address and honoured the resource person of the day.

The resource person for the first day was Dr.R.Srinivasan, Associate professor of commerce (Rtd), National College, Trichy. Dr.R.Srinivasan, with his very long experience in teaching and his sound knowledge in the subject, handled the sessions very interestingly and effectively. He elaborated the methodologies to be adopted in the class room according to different subjects and set of students. Further he said while teaching accountancy, one should prepare extensively well, workout number of problems, refer various books and then practice in the class. The fundamental concepts and theory portions are to be explained in detail with appropriate examples, he opined. The sessions on second and third day were handled by Dr.T.Jayprakasam, former principal of our College. During this session, he explained the importance of using the black board for accountancy. He also demonstrated as regards to use of board for the effective teaching. He invited every staff to teach accountancy for 10 minutes and rectified the mistakes and offered suggestions for better teaching. Further he said no technology can replace chalk and talk while teaching accountancy. It was very useful for everyone for teaching accountancy very effectively.

During the final session Dr.A.R. PonPeriyasamy, Principal of our College delivered a lecture on systematic approach in research.

The three day orientation progamme came to end with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. R.Yogalakshmi, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Earlier the participants gave their feedback and thanked the management and Principal, for taking all effort to organize the programme. They also felt these type of programmes shall be conducted at the beginning of every semester...
